“relating to or denoting a style of synthesized dance music that developed in Ibiza.
"the Balearic beat"
Much has been written about Ibiza’s over commercialization and yet it wasn’t always like that, there are still pockets of resistance not only on the Island but also here in London that keep the flame burning for that true Ibiza style night.
Balearicos started over 2 yrs ago with a summer-long residency at Red Market in London, its resident DJ’s Nancy Noise and Phil Mison are two of Ibiza’s renegade Balearic guerilla’s whose mission is to resist at all cost the rise of the bland VIP culture that permeates today’s club land. With Red Gallery LDN they have found the perfect partner in crime with Red Gallery’s “Anti-whatever you want” attitude.
The Arts Club east room lends itself to Balearico’s ethos, great surround Funktion One sound system, totally affordable cocktails crafted by Adam McGurk (Hawksmoor/The Player/Milk & Honey) and decorated with Red Gallery past events posters topped up by a mural by those art guerillas
Your music Balearic guerrilla commanders for the night will be Comandante Phil Mison & Nancy “La Jefe” Noise…Long Live the Balearic Underground..!!
Balearics will kick off proceedings by celebrating 25yrs since the classic Ibiza documentary “A short Film about Chillin’” was first shown on Channel 4 followed by a Q&A with director Angus Cameron and a discussion panel by leading Ibiza veterans Lisa Loud, Nancy Noise, Trevor Fung and legendary Ibiza club promoter Spencer Guainiere –Deja Vous –
