‘Untitled’ the Deep.Sleep is a live installation in progress created and performed by Yulia Hampton. She works predominately with performances and large-scale installations including the medium of 3D collages on paper, photography, and video.
‘Untitled’ the Deep.Sleep challenges the audience perspective to chill & relax in the least expected surroundings. Are you a spectator or a participant?
You could be coming back from a good party or a night shift or else taking a late evening stroll or just can’t sleep and when the least expected you notice public settings in the context of a bedroom. You’re soon laying down, gazing into the open dark blue sky if you can be truly free from the clutch of your own routine, concerns, prejudice, preoccupied mind, everything that seems to always bother to chill. You’re closing your eyes for it’s such a lovely midsummer night for it to feel this way, and in your Neverland you are carried gently by the wind towards your and only enigmatic star 😊
Thus, the only interaction, which occurs, between the artist and observer is the unifying aesthetic sensibility of the meditative and relaxing state of mind of its own.
The project is a theatrical intervention embedded into diverse spaces, and does not aim to respond or challenge nor to provoke but to immerse the public into the changing relations of subjects and matters of what constitutes life and art. What happens in the meditative state of mind of the observer while sharing the still moments of continuous performance act? Can the observer redefine art?
The project has visited 19 European cities since 2016.
